Katy Perry Acne – Despite being the face of Proactiv, a US acne-fighting skincare brand, Katy has recently been pictured with flare-ups on her cheeks and chin, and admits that this has proved to be a big issue for her.
In the case of Katy Perry, she’s found that stress is what sets off her skin, and unlucky for her, as the break-outs cause even more stress, it turns into a vicious cycle. Stress causes worsening of acne in two ways. First, by stimulating adrenal glands to produce more hormones and secondly, by slowing down the healing process.
And despite her spots being barely visible, having acne is hard enough when you’re simply going to school, so being in the media spotlight must make it even more stressful. Especially with so many nay-sayers desperate to pick out your flaws.
Singer Katy Perry started getting acne really bad when she started touring. It made her feel very embarrassed and really self-conscious. She had to wear all this makeup just to cover it up, and when she took it off, it was like a Jekyll and Hyde moment, you know?

About Katy Perry Acne Scars
One Of My Insecurities Is That I Have Acne Scars. I’m Self-Conscious About That, So Sometimes I Wear Too Much Makeup To Cover Them Up.
In some red carpet snaps you can see small bumps underneath her make-up, which may be traces of acne. The songstress is currently promoting her movie Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D, in which she documents life on the road and her personal struggles along the way. Katy Perry has teased it’s “not exciting” to see her acne and acne scars in 3D.
Perry is seen sporting a fresh faced look in the film. She cringes at some of the scenes, but believes it’s important to show fans her less-than-glamorous every day look:
I kept a lot of those scenes in where I am not looking all done up and looking pretty exhausted. And my acne is in 3D, which is not exciting! I think it’s time to break down the wall of fakeness regarding Hollywood because it’s not realistic.
Perry loves dressing up in eccentric attire and boasting bold make-up for her signature quirky stage shows. However, the star insists keeping up this look isn’t pragmatic and gives the wrong impression, so is just as comfortable goings sans make-up:
No one could walk out of their house being flawless and having all these material possessions. It is not cool to paint that picture all the time. I think it’s great to dress up and play on all the girly features. But at the end of the day, I am pretty plain Jane when I go to bed and wake up. I am just a simple girl who had a dream and basically hustled the whole way here.
